Pictured above: Rahim is chained to his bed after a failed surgery.
Our local partner in the closed Muslim country, whose name we cannot mention here for security reasons, is in contact with Rahim and has the opportunity to help him with medicine and hygiene items with the support of Danish European Mission donors.
Surgery gone wrong - now deaf-mute Rahim can't walk either
Rahim, who is deaf and mute, has suffered from back pain for some time, so the hospital decided to perform an operation on him. Unfortunately, something went wrong and he has not been able to walk since the operation. Rahim's wife, who is also deaf and dumb, is losing her sight and is now almost blind. The couple have two adult children who can speak and hear. The daughter is married and the son is looking after his father during this difficult time.
Rahim and family accept Jesus
Danish European Mission contacts tell us: "Our friend visited Rahim's home and told him about Jesus and he accepted Jesus in his heart, but his wife is still thinking about it. We visited Rahim and he asked us if we would pray for him. So we did. After a few days we visited him again, where we had bought some important things for him. His children were at home. He asked us to tell the children about Jesus, and they also accepted Jesus.", says our local partner.
Rahim's Muslim family puts pressure on him
A few days after Rahim's children had also accepted Jesus, Rahim's Muslim family shows up with a mullah. Together they try to persuade Rahim and his children to return to Islam and deny Christianity. "When our people visited Rahim, he told us with tears in his eyes what had happened. But he asked if we would continue to pray for them", says the local partner of the Danish European Mission.
Please join us in praying for Rahim and his family. Pray that they will stand firm in their new faith and that God will bring him strength, encouragement and healing.
Thanks also to the donors of the Danish European Mission who faithfully ensure that our local partner in this country can help people like Rahim and other poor and persecuted Christians.
