Missile testing and the cynical assassination of his half-brother Kim Jong-nam in February are just the latest examples of how North Korea's supreme leader, Kim Jong-un, wants to show the world his power. However, by trying to provoke conflict with neighboring countries rather than building healthy relations with them, he comes across as an immature and inexperienced leader.

Despite the tensions between North Korea and neighboring countries, the Danish European Mission's partner has been able to continue working to help the country's persecuted Christians and others in need in the country.
Father and daughter got help to escape
With the support of the Danish European Mission's donors, refugees are helped to escape from North Korea to safe countries that, unlike China, do not send them back to North Korea, where refugees risk years in the country's notorious prison camps as punishment for escaping.
An example of the refugees who received help is a father and his daughter. For security reasons, we cannot mention their names. The father says: "My wife died of tuberculosis in North Korea in 2010. I found it very difficult to take care of my daughter in North Korea by myself. That's why I fled to China in 2012 with my daughter, and we arrived in xxxx city. At first I worked on a factory, that processed corn, but I could not befair worked when I was an illegal North Korean immigrant [without refugee status, ed.]. Therefore, I had to sell myself as a day laborer every morning, which only ensuresof me Revenue for To live on a living wage. In addition, it was a challenge For me As a single father Taking care of my daughter. Fortunately, a Chinese priest helped us, but the situation was not sustainable as we lived in constant fear of being arrested."
Fortunately, this father and his daughter were rescued from China and are now in a safe third country where they are not at risk of being sent back.
North Korean Christians are grateful for medicine
Medicine continues to be smuggled into probably the most closed country in the world. The Danish European Mission's partner regularly receives greetings through a very secure channel, where North Korean Christians thank us for the medicine we send. They are also grateful for seed, which is a new and innovative way to help those in need in North Korea. The seeds are smuggled into the country and delivered in family packs.
North Korean Christians don't just use medicine and seeds to fulfill their own needs, but use the aid to be something for their fellow citizens in need.

North Korean wife = 7000 kr.
Despite China's cooperation with North Korea to repatriate refugees, efforts to help children abandoned by North Korean mothers continue. Illegal North Korean female refugees risk being sold by human traffickers to single Chinese men for prices as low as DKK 7,000. The couples often have children, but if the Chinese authorities discover that the mother is illegal, she is sent back to North Korea alone, regardless of whether or not the father is able to care for the child.
The situation is insane, but with the support of Danish European Mission donors, Chinese Christians are stepping in and providing foster care for the abandoned children of North Korean mothers.
Thank you to everyone who supports the valuable work to help North Koreans in need.
