Danish European Mission has just received very good news from Turkmenistan that Pastor Nurliev was released from the Seydi labor camp together with the other pardoned prisoners at 2 pm on 18 February. His release was part of a general amnesty ordered by the President on the occasion of Flag Day on February 19.
His wife Maya is thrilled
"This was the seventh time an amnesty was granted - and finally it was successful. We read on the internet that his name was on the list of those who had been pardoned",Maya Nurliev told Forum 18.
"He and the other prisoners were transported by a special police train to Mary, and we rushed to the station to receive him." says his wife Maya. "His release was so unexpected that we forgot to buy flowers. I can't even begin to express how happy we are."

On www.forfulgtekristne.dk , Danish European Mission Facebook page And in the Danish European Mission's magazine you can read about Pastor Ilmurad Nurliev, who was sentenced to four years in prison in 2010 based on false, fabricated accusations. He has been imprisoned for almost 1½ years and will not serve the rest of the 2½ years he was originally sentenced to.
Danish European Mission has supported Pastor Ilmurad with food and clothing during the winter 2011/2012.
The picture shows Maya with her husband's Bible while she was still separated from him.
He was convicted of "causing the citizen considerable loss". What the authorities thus called fraud, however, is what the church, on the contrary, perceives as tithing, i.e. the voluntary payment of ten percent of personal income to the congregation, which is a biblical principle. Several witness statements against Pastor Ilmurad Nurliev also turned out to be fabricated. For example, one witness was in prison at the time she claimed to have paid money to the church and therefore had no way of paying the money.
Serving Jesus in prison
It has been reported that Pastor Ilmurad has been in good spirits in prison. He has shared about Jesus and two fellow prisoners have become Christians. It was a powerful testimony that not even prison could stop him from serving Jesus.
Can now reunite with his family
At the same time, we also know that he missed his family, including his grandchildren. We must thank God that Pastor Imurad has now been released from prison and can be reunited with his wife Maya and the rest of his family.
