A Muslim man lured 19-year-old Christian Sonia Mohan out of her home on 01.04.10. The man and a car full of friends took her away. The family fears that the Muslim, Ali Raza, will force her to convert to Islam and marry him.

Raza came to the home in Lahore's Nishtar Colony and claimed that her brother, Johnson Parvaiz, wanted to see her outside. "Sonia would not have come if it wasn't because I wanted to see her," Parvaiz said.

"After two days, the brother reached the sister on her cell phone. She told him not to call and said she was happy and that the family should not try to find her.

"It was clear from her voice that she was forced to say this," Parvaiz said. Munawar Dogger of the local police station said it did not appear that Sonia Mohan, who like the rest of the family belongs to the American Reformed Presbyterian Church, went willingly with Raza. He said he had deliberately delayed reporting the case on behalf of the Mohan family when Raza's family filed a complaint that he had been abducted in a bizarre attempt to delay police efforts to find Mohan. Since the abduction, Raza has not shown up for work.

The family fears that the daughter will say she came willingly because of the abductors' threat that her father or brother will be killed if she refuses them.
