Pakistan's northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), with its capital Peshawar, is the most insecure part of Pakistan. It is even mandatory by law for foreigners to have police protection when entering the KPK.
Due to the insecurity, the Pakistani military has placed large military bases in this part of the country. At the same time, the Pakistani Taliban, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, Active in the area and regularly attacks Pakistani military. Other Islamic groups also carry out terrorist attacks.
The 34-year-old young Christian man, Kashif Masih, is one of the victims of the Pakistani Taliban. He was brutally shot by the Taliban. His widow and his three children (two girls and a boy) have also faced discrimination from the authorities.
After Kashif's death, the government had pledged to help the widow and orphans and promised them financial support. But unfortunately, no practical steps have been taken to put these promises into practice. The case and the promised help have been shelved. The widow has not received justice and financial support. She has visited the government offices and met the officials, but had to return home disappointed.
Now her children live in a combined orphanage and school that is part of the Danish European Mission project. Here, the children not only receive schooling, but also a roof over their heads, food and care. The combined orphanage and school thanks for the support and expresses its heartfelt gratitude to the Danish European Mission: “Your contribution has a great impact on the lives of many underprivileged children and gives them the opportunity to go to school.”
