Emergency aid helped Ukrainians through the winter

We must not forget Ukraine and the war that continues unabated.

This became clear to me through my conversation with the Danish European Mission field coordinator who visited Ukraine in December 2024. He says: "I spoke to the pastor, Dimitry, from the church we support and he describes the situation as a daily struggle for survival. 'We have a little hope, but it's hard to believe', he says to me."

The emergency aid consists of food, heating blankets and gas cylinders with top burners that can be used for cooking.

The church, supported by the Danish European Mission's improvers and donors, distributes relief packages to war refugees living in abandoned villages. "Many of the recipients would starve without the winter relief as the authorities do not have enough resources to help them," he says seriously. The emergency aid consists of food, heating blankets and gas cylinders with top burners that can be used for cooking. The blankets can retain heat for several hours and sleeping on them can strengthen the body's resistance, preventing diseases that can occur in cold and damp rooms.

Our field coordinator says: "Despite the darkness, the church is experiencing increased attendance. Local Christians are offering help, prayer and hope through the gospel to those who need it. But the need is enormous, and the uncertainty of when the war will end is taking a toll on most people's strength. 'Don't forget us', many plead."
