"My wife was subject to dark forces. She was bound by sorcery and she suffered a lot. I was desperate and didn't know what to do."
So says Sri Lankan Sellahambi Shankar, who lives with his wife in a small village in a small house. Four years ago today, darkness descended on their small home.
"I couldn't get help from the Hindu priest because I had no money. But through my uncle I heard about a prayer house in Walathapiti and we went there. My wife was healed!".

After God delivered Sellahambi's wife, both Sellahambi and his wife have accepted the Lord as their personal savior and attend church. But for a long time they didn't have a Bible where they could read the whole word of God.
"We only had an old Bible with some of its books missing and we couldn't afford to buy a new one. But then we received a new Bible from our pastor through NCEASL (National Christian Evangelical Alliance of Sri Lanka, a partner of Danish European Mission). Having our own Bible is a great help for us to learn the word of God and every day my wife and I study the Bible for two or three hours".
"Thank you to those of you who made it possible for us to know the word of the Lord. Thank you to those of you who contribute to blessing lives like mine. May the Lord bless you all."
Danish European Mission donors have contributed to over 1,000 Sri Lankan homes receiving a Bible by 2022. Due to the economic crisis in the country, especially poor Christians in rural areas have been challenged to attend church as transportation costs can be difficult to afford. Having your own Bible as a source of spiritual support is especially valuable at this time.
