“There is a very strong sense of solidarity among Iranians right now.” This is what Changiz, as we are calling him for security reasons, says. We received his account from our partner organization regarding Iran. He continues: “I participated in the protests and saw many heartbreaking things. Security forces killed two of my friends who were standing right next to me. They drove large vehicles into the crowd – even targeting small children.”

“My neighbor's wife was killed. Her husband tried to protect her, and they killed him too. They have small children, and we see them crying. Honestly, we don't know what to say or do.”

“If I didn't have Jesus, I couldn't go on. There is pain and suffering everywhere. But I see how brave people are.”

“I shared the gospel with two of my friends, and they came to Jesus. I try to share it with others, but it's very difficult these days. I learned from the past and therefore had saved songs of praise and teaching on a USB stick. When the internet was cut off, I used them.”

During the demonstrations: Amir and his brother read God's word aloud to each other, sang praises, and prayed for Jesus to keep their faith strong.

“There is fear and deep disappointment. In these difficult days, I felt very discouraged and was tempted to sin. My phone was stolen and I had no internet access. But the Holy Spirit strengthened me. I prayed, sang praises, as best I could remember them, and spoke in tongues.”

“I see Jesus coming on the clouds – the righteous King. His righteousness will be revealed.”

“When we didn't have internet, my brother, who is a believer, and I read God's word aloud to each other every evening. We sang hymns and asked Jesus to keep our faith strong. One of these evenings we also prayed for the church leaders. Honestly, I had never really prayed for church leaders before, but during these evenings I strongly felt that the enemy was attacking believers.”
