Since 2012, Danish European Mission donors have faithfully supported the House of Hope in the predominantly Muslim country in Central Asia, where battered women, prostitutes and trafficked women are helped to help themselves.

The vulnerable women receive care, counseling, legal and medical assistance - and not least job training so they can become self-sufficient. Local Christians are responsible for this unique work. For security reasons, we cannot mention the name of the country. Project participants also have the opportunity to learn about the Christian faith if they are interested. More broken women are being transformed by the encounter with God's love in Jesus Christ.

On a trip in September, volunteers and employees of the Danish European Mission had the pleasure of inaugurating a new shelter. The building cost around DKK 800,000 and was paid for by the Danish European Mission's donors. Here, vulnerable women can live in safety and receive job training.

The women are trained as chefs so they can work in a restaurant or catering business.

Thank you to everyone who prays for the work and ensures that even more women can be helped - and transformed by God's love.

Facts and figures

  • Around 200 women annually receive job training and counseling
  • Every year, around 30 women and their children find safety and security at one of the shelters.
