Tomorrow is the release day Song of the nightingale. The book is about Helen Berhane, who was imprisoned in containers in Eritrea for two years in inhumane conditions and subjected to severe torture.

The reason? She shared her faith and sang about Jesus.

At the end of her time in prison, she was tortured so severely that she was hospitalized, where she hovered between life and death. She then fled to Denmark with her daughter.

Helen's story shows the high price an uncompromising young Christian woman paid for standing firm in her convictions. It also shows God's care, comfort and intervention in the midst of suffering.

When Helen came out of prison, she was surprised to learn that Christians she didn't know had been praying for her. She is very grateful for this intercession and her reaction reminds us that prayer for persecuted Christians is important and makes a big difference.
