However, that hasn't stopped him or the church from continuing to reach out to the vulnerable in their local area. Dysfunctional families live here, where several parents, due to unemployment and/or abuse, do not properly care for their children.
But at church, families can receive bags of hope - bags of food to feed children and adults throughout the week, thanks to support from donors of the Danish European Mission. Before the bags are distributed, children can volunteer to participate in children's meetings and adults in other meetings with singing and preaching.
Several participate and experience that it does them good to hear about Jesus and his love and forgiveness. And they experience that Jesus sets them free from abuse and slowly leads them out of the deep problems they have ended up in - into a whole new life.
The pastor will also share how society's skepticism and prejudices can be broken down when persecuted Christians help the vulnerable in their communities. In fact, the municipality sometimes refers vulnerable people to the church because it has seen what it can mean for them to come to church.
