In Azerbaijan, Baptist Hamid Shabanov was sentenced to another two months in prison at a closed court hearing on 19.09.08. Neither Hamid nor his lawyer were informed about this meeting in advance.
The defense counsel's request to release Shabanov pending a possible trial was denied. However, the Baptists are happy with Shabanov's relocation to the police station in Balakan district near his home district, Zakatala.
