Write to a persecuted Christian

Christians who are persecuted can easily feel alone. They need to feel that they are not forgotten. You can encourage them with a letter.

Dear God, Thank you for our hope being in you - Dear God, thank you for allowing our hope to be with you - even when life is difficult and our own strength is not enough. When we become tired and lose our courage, help us to seek you and trust that you are with us. Give us strength for the next step and help us to hold on to hope, even when our circumstances do not change. Amen🤲
202 children from poor families in Pakistan get to go to school 202 children from poor families in Pakistan get an education202 children from poor Christian families, as well as a few children with other minority backgrounds, have the opportunity to attend school through the work that the donors of the Danish European Mission support in Pakistan. This is one of many examples of how the donors of the Danish European Mission are helping to make a tangible difference in the world. In the coming time, we will share more examples from our work around the world. Thank you for your support🙌
The underground church has grown from practically nothing to ten The underground church has grown from practically no one to 10,000 indigenous convert Christians in 25 years. According to Bedros, who works with the Danish European Mission in Yemen, only about ten Yemenis who converted to the Christian faith knew each other 25 years ago. They lived scattered around the country and did not know each other. In 2003, the number may have grown to about 20. Small Christian communities began meeting in secret, but due to persecution, the groups were dissolved again. A few years later, Christians again began gathering in small groups. Many were afraid of each other and suspected others of being spies. Some new Christians stood completely alone and believed at first that they were the only Christians in Yemen. Nevertheless, the underground church continued to grow – despite civil war and poverty. Today, the number of indigenous convert Christians is estimated at around 10,000. For the first time, three generations have also been gathered in the same space for worship. In Yemen, it is not traditional for men and women to sit together. But when Christians gather, they do it. “We say that only Jesus can do this, because we are brothers and sisters in him,” says Bedros, who is responsible for the Danish European Mission’s work in Yemen.
Adnan grew up as a practicing Muslim in the north Adnan grew up as a devout Muslim in northern Yemen and joined the Houthi army at an early age. “I fought, killed, and had a hard heart,” he says. After several years of war and killing, he began to grow disillusioned. He left the battlefield and opened a grocery store instead. One day he heard someone say that Christians were the ones closest to Muslims. This led him to search for Christianity on the internet, where he came into contact with Christians and had many conversations about faith. The Sermon on the Mount in particular made a great impression on him. Later, Adnan had a dream that confirmed to him that he had found the truth. He gave his life to Jesus and began sharing his new faith with others. This had major consequences. Adnan was imprisoned, lost his wife and contact with his son, and later had to flee Yemen. Today he holds fast to his faith in Jesus, even though it has cost him dearly. Will you join in praying for Adnan? 🙏
Despite war and poverty, the underground church is growing in Despite war and poverty, the underground church in Yemen is growing. 25 years ago, there were perhaps at most ten native Yemenites who had converted to the Christian faith. Today, the underground church is estimated at around 10,000 convert Christians. ”Many Yemenites have a deep spiritual longing that is only fulfilled when they meet the Jesus of the Bible,” says Bedros, who is the project manager for the Danish European Mission's project in Yemen. Many new Christians have stood alone and initially believed they were the only Christians in the country. Today, Christians meet in secret fellowships, and for the first time, three generations have been seen gathered in the same room for a church service. ”We say that only Jesus can do this, as we are brothers and sisters in Him,” says Bedros. Will you join in praying for Yemen? 🙏 🙏
