In July, Norine and Andrew Brunson visited Denmark. They were invited by the Danish European Mission, who encouraged prayer and appeal writing during Andrew's imprisonment and published Andrew's book in Danish after his release. The couple spoke at Skovgårde and Haderslev Næs Bible campsites, but due to covid-19 restrictions, the Danish European Mission could not invite them to these meetings, which were reserved for permanent residents at the campsites.
In both places, Andrew's story of his almost two years in Turkish prison received very positive feedback. Not only was he imprisoned for his Christian faith, but he also became a pawn in a major political game between Turkey and the US.
Central to his talk, however, was the crisis of faith he went through in prison. Norine and Andrew had experienced a personal revival about 10 years before Andrew went to prison, where they experienced the tangible presence of God. In prison, however, Andrew could not feel God and entered a deep crisis of faith where he doubted God, approached mental illness and contemplated suicide. In the second year, things turned around and God restored Andrew. He chose to believe God even though he didn't feel him or experience God's faithfulness in a tangible way.
This story made a deep impression on many listeners and some who were struggling with various faith issues themselves received prayer and conversation with Norine and Andrew after the meetings.
Andrew in Jyllandsposten
During the visit, several media outlets also had the opportunity to speak with the couple, including Jyllandsposten, in which Andrew called on Western governments to help persecuted Christians
