Pakistan is one of the world's most insecure countries, where Christians and other minorities risk physical attacks.

A recent example is from December 5 this year, when pastor Kamran Salamat was shot as he was about to take his daughter to high school. Unfortunately, there are regular examples of churches being attacked and therefore needing police protection, especially during Sunday services.

Children from Christian families and other minority backgrounds grow up in such an environment - and it is necessary to give them the best conditions in life.

A good place to start is schooling in a safe environment at Christian independent schools. The Danish European Mission works with four Christian schools in northwest Pakistan, the most insecure part of the country. 194 vulnerable children are currently receiving education.

Among them are Kainat, Samson and Berisha in the picture above. Their father Kashif Mashif was killed by the Pakistani Taliban (Tehreek-e-Taliban Paksitan, ed.). The children's mother was in a difficult financial situation and today Kainat, Samson and Berisha receive free schooling in the project.

If minority children go to public schools, they risk discrimination and isolation. And their parents are not always able to prepare them at home to answer critical and challenging questions at school if they can't even read, write or do math.

Through schooling, children can get the best conditions to succeed in life. Equipping children to stand up for their rights and make a positive difference in their country.

Thank you so much for lending a helping hand to vulnerable children in Pakistan.

It costs DKK 1,045 to ensure that a child can attend school for a year. In addition, donations can be used to develop the facilities, including buildings and equipment, and provide further education for Pakistani children.
