Iranians are increasingly coming into possession of the Word of God. Often this happens through Christians faithfully sharing the gospel with friends and family. But sometimes - as this story shows - it happens in strange and unexpected ways:
A drug addict stole a woman's handbag. When he got home, he searched the bag hoping to find money. To his disappointment, he found none. Instead, he found the New Testament. He read a few pages and was deeply moved. But he was preoccupied with getting more drugs, so he put it aside.
When he later visited some family, he sneaked a peek into another handbag. And yes: another New Testament! He read a few more pages.
Eventually, he came across someone who shared the gospel with him and gave him a copy of the New Testament.
The former drug addict is now a Christian. A Christian brother teaches him the faith and he grows in his faith in Jesus.
Please pray for this man's continued faith development, for more opportunities to smuggle Bibles into Iran and for the safety of Christians.
You can lend a helping hand to local Christians to give the New Testament to people longing to experience God's love. It costs 40 kr. to ensure that a copy of the New Testament is smuggled into Iran or neighboring countries where Iranians also live.
