One of her lawyers has also received a letter stating that she has been acquitted, according to Morning Star News.

On May 27, Meriam gave birth to a baby girl in prison. Meriam already had a 20-month-old boy who was in prison with her.

Firstly, she was found guilty of apostasy from Islam as she is Christian but from a Muslim background. The authorities considered her background to be Muslim despite the fact that she was raised by her mother, who is Christian.

Secondly, she was found guilty of fornication as she is married to a Christian.

Many people have prayed for her, many have signed petitions and several political leaders have put pressure on Sudan.

It's now time to thank God and ask him to bless Meriam and her family in the new time they are entering.
