Intelligence officers beat up hospitalized Saeed

Unfortunately, on the morning of May 20, a number of intelligence officers arrived unannounced at the hospital where Saeed Abedini lay. They forcibly removed Saeed from the hospital, beat him and reportedly gave him an electric shock. He was taken back to Rajaj Shahr prison.

Iranian Christians are therefore asking for renewed prayers for Saeed Abedini. Saeed has been imprisoned since September 26, 2012. In mid-March 2014, he was transferred to a hospital where he received emergency treatment, but his family was allowed to come and feed him, which allowed him to gain some weight and regain his strength.

This incident is one of several similar cases of mistreatment of Christians and other prisoners in the Iranian prison system in recent weeks.

In 2009, Saeed was warned about the risks of his involvement in house churches and so he focused on humanitarian activities on his subsequent trips to Iran. In 2012, while visiting his parents and carrying out relief work, he was detained and in January 2013 he was found guilty of charges of subversive activities (due to his involvement in house churches) and sentenced to eight years in prison. Saeed holds dual citizenship in Iran and the United States. His wife Nagmeh and their two children reside in the US.

The Christians supporting Saeed and his family thank you for our prayers. They ask for continued prayers especially for:

a. Saeed must feel Jesus' presence every day, will experience His healing touch and receive appropriate medical care.

b. Saeed's wife Naghmeh, their two children and the rest of their family may experience the presence and peace of Jesus.

c. The conviction must be overturned and Saeed set free.

d. others currently in prison in Iran because of their Christian beliefs or actions must be released and all charges against them dropped.

e. All officials involved must love mercy, act justly, learn about Jesus and choose to follow Him.

Give Iranian Christians more New Testaments

Persecuted Christians in Iran are also asking for more New Testaments. They are in the midst of a great revival and need New Testaments for the thousands of Iranians who are open to the Gospel.

Millions of people in Muslim Iran live in spiritual darkness. They don't know that they can know God as their loving father - simply by believing in Jesus Christ.

You can help meet their deep spiritual needs by making a gift so that the New Testament can be smuggled to the persecuted Christians in Iran. This means Christians can spread the Gospel and bring hope and joy to people in need.

For around DKK 247, you can help seven people. Your gift will be smuggled into Iran so people can receive the New Testament in their own language. 70 precious copies from you will cost approximately DKK 2,470. There is a desperate need in Denmark to help bring the Gospel to people in Iran.
