Farshid went to help one of the injured prisoners, but was stopped by one of the guards who stomped on Farshid's bare foot with his heavy boot. Farshid suffered fractures to his foot and one of his toes.
Although he was in severe pain, guards did not allow him to receive treatment until Sunday morning (Easter Sunday) when he was taken to the hospital in shackles, treated and his foot put in a cast.
Farshid has sent this message to those who pray for him:
"Today I celebrate the resurrection of our Lord with a mixed feeling of joy and pain, in a different way and in a different place.
My left foot is in a cast after they broke it last Thursday during the abuse they inflicted on innocent prisoners under the pretext of an inspection. After three days of pain, they finally took me, chained and handcuffed, to a hospital on Easter morning. Although I was in great pain, I received it as a gift from God to be allowed out of prison, even for a few hours.
Of course we forgive them for everything they have done to us, because we follow Him who says: "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do". So, my dear friends, pray for me these days that I may know Him and be in Him and the power of resurrection. Happy Easter."
We will bring you more details as they become available. In the meantime, please pray for Farshid and other injured prisoners, and for justice to be served.
