Several Christians have been arrested in Iran. On February 7, plainclothes officers stormed a house and arrested 10 people who had gathered for prayer. All 10 arrested were transferred to an unknown location. Authorities have refused to provide the families with information about their whereabouts.

Although full details are not yet known, Mohabat News reported that among those arrested was a 23-year-old man named Mojtaba Hosseini. He was previously arrested back in 2008 along with eight others for converting to Christianity. He had been asked by security officials to renounce his faith and cooperate with the intelligence services.

Mohabat News points out that the latest incident is part of a campaign against Iran's small Christian community. They are particularly targeting converts. The authorities have also forcibly closed churches where services are held in Farsi, Iran's national language. In other churches, the Ministry of Intelligence has ordered them to keep Farsi speakers out. For this reason, Christian converts are forced to meet in small groups in private homes. The authorities see them as spies and tools of the West.
