Would you like to write a letter of encouragement to Pastor Ilmurad?

In prison he has received letters from Christians and has been encouraged by reading them. Don't mention the Danish European Mission, just write a simple, encouraging greeting in English. Send it to:  info@forfulgtekristne.dk   no later than December 18, 2011.

Right: Maya holds her husband's Bible. She hopes he will be released as part of the amnesty for prisoners.

Pastor Ilmurad is doing well in prison

It sounds paradoxical that he can feel good, but people who know him say so. He even has the energy to continue his ministry in prison when he tells his fellow inmates about Jesus. Two have become Christians, and it's a great testimony that imprisonment does not stop ministry.

It is also reported that he misses his family and wants to see his grandchildren. The Danish European Mission has supported him to get clothes and food during the winter.

Convicted on false charges

Pastor Ilmurad Nurliev has been wrongfully sentenced to four years in prison. He was convicted of "causing significant losses to the citizen". What the authorities called fraud, however, is what the church perceives as tithing, i.e. the voluntary payment of ten percent of personal income to the congregation. Several witness statements against Pastor Ilmurad Nurliev have turned out to be fabricated. For example, one witness was in prison at the time she claimed she had paid money to the church and therefore had no way of paying the money. Read more about the case under related content below.
