When I was 16, I ran away from home and was completely on my own as a homeless person, says Sergey Reznichenko. - "I started smoking, drinking, and smoking weed, after which I got into hard drug abuse. I repeatedly sought help from the government to get out of my addiction through intravenous medication, and when I was 25 years old, I actually got out of the violent addiction for a longer period of time, probably mostly because I had a great longing for a normal life and starting a family.

Relapsed and lost her marriage
I got a job and got married. After three years we had a lovely son and everything seemed to be going well. But slowly I started to fall back into the old life and drugs pulled me back down into a swamp from which I couldn't get out again! As a result, my wife left me with the baby. I lost my job and all my relatives turned their backs on me.
When that happened, all light disappeared for me, I became a criminal and went to prison, but it was as if being punished had no effect on me because what filled my mind was that all my relationships were lost. My life began to be hell in the hopelessness I was experiencing. At that time, I was 29 years old and felt that God looked at me as the greatest sinner on earth!
Moved into the House of Mercy
Then I met my old friend who used to live the same way I did. It turned out that he had become a Christian and his life had become very different. He invited me to attend a Sunday service at a church in the city of Abay. After the service, I talked to the pastor Nurken and he suggested that I move into the "House of Mercy," which the church runs in the village of Volnie.
After living in the house for a while, I came to faith in Jesus and I also got out of my addiction. I got better and better and started making plans for the future.
Reunited with his wife and child
Since then, my wife and I have re-established a happy marriage. We now live together in an apartment and both serve in the House of Mercy and in the church. We also have our second child - a daughter - and we are very happy and thankful to God.
