Meeting other Christians contributes to a bigger picture of the facets of faith

This spring I was able to attend a conference in the Middle East where persecuted Christians met and for a few days could freely share God's word with each other and sing and dance together in a great praise to God.

At this conference, I met many people who all had a lot on their minds. Mange of them come from countries where Christians are a minority, and how many are first-generation Christians.

I myself come from a Christian home and have,as long as I can remember having a belief that there was ainThere is a God. Meeting Christians who have a history with God, as contains a before and a after, gjomade an impression on me.When I read my Bible or attend church services, I experience, I don't always understand the depth of the message I'm presented with. The fact that Jesus loves me and has saved me can become self-evident because I've heard it repeated countless times. But sometimes the bag is shaken, and experiences of other Christians contribute to, I realize in glimpses how quite big it is.

At the conference, I met Farrin*, the told me a testimonyFarrin Workers on a daily basis with To support and help women who have experienced violence, trafficking and prostitution in a country in Central AsiaOn a very special way experienced FarrinGod's call to help these vulnerable women. Together with another woman, she walked a day down a street where prostitutes were pulling. The woman, She was accompanied by, Asked: "Did you see the woman in the bikini?" Farrin corresponding: "Nej, I saw a woman in a long, white dress."

The woman they passed, had was actually wearing a bikini, but Farrin realized that God had shown her how he views prostitutes. He sees what Jesus has done for them and called Farrin to rescue them from the power of darkness.

Farrins story made a big impression on me. God had shown FarrinHow he sees people - no matter what we carry around with us. He sees us as brides.

St. Lukethe gospel 7,36-50 I can read about Jesus letting a prostitutetwoman kiss his feet. But I've heard the story so many times that I'm no longer affected of, how controversial it actually is. That Jesus wants toEnter into a close relationship with us regardless of our past. No matter what we hold.

How much we can learn in community with other Christians. I experience again and again how crucial it is that I meet others' experiences and experiences of faith, which can give me new perspectives and get and greater insight into the depths of faith. How beneficial it is to hear the experiences of persecuted Christians who live in a different context than me.

*Farrin is not the woman's real name. The ehas been changed for security reasons.
