Jesus passed this vision on to the disciples in the Great Commission, sending them out to "all nations" (Matthew 28:19). Jesus will not come again until the gospel is presented to "all nations" (Matthew 24:14).
The last book of the Bible speaks prophetically about the great day when people of "all nations and tribes" will stand before the throne of God and worship Jesus (Rev 7:9).
The nations are really a big theme in the Bible. Because God's heart is burning that in every nation there will be people who will become His children.
But God's love doesn't stop when people in a nation come to faith in Jesus. Of course it doesn't! Every small church or group of believers in Jesus in any nation is enveloped in His care and promise: "I am with you always" (Matthew 28:20).
God has a special concern for His children who live in nations where they are persecuted for their faith (Hebrews 13:3). The martyrs who have given their lives for Jesus are given a special place of honor in God's presence as they await their vindication at Jesus' return (Revelation 6:9-11).
Yes, God's heart is on fire! For international mission and for his persecuted children.
