Millions of people in Yemen are starving during the war in the country. Many are fleeing the bombardments and lack access to drinking water and basic necessities. In the midst of all this, churches are spreadingin the predominantly Muslim country hope and peace, and Muslims see God's love through the food distributionsas Christians are involved in.

We speak ill of Christians - even if we don't know them

One recipient of the aid says: "As Muslims in this society, we often curse Christians and speak ill of them even though we don't know them. For the past three months, I have only met God's help through them - food for my family of five children. I thank God for them and am grateful that God loves us. GThrough this love I feel that they are our true brothers. I give thanks for those who are leading this project. May God bless them with his love and use them even more."

It's amazing how Muslims are touched by the actions of Christians and change their view of Christians. Another recipient of a basket of food says:

"I received a basket of food and I thank God that He is always with us. GThe gifts of Christians are gifts from God. They love us with the love of God. My view of Christians is better than my view of Muslims in terms of how they behave and their humanitarian work. They show God's love in a way that touches our lives in a tangible way and I am touched by it. In the midst of war, these are the people who have stood with us and supported us. May God be with them and bless them. I thank God for what they have done for us."

Native Christians get the opportunity to bring hope

Danish European Mission donors can ensure that Christians can distribute food to those who need it mostand i Yemen. The Christians in the country are passionate about being a blessing to their fellow citizens. One of the local helpers in the project explains:

"In the midst of war and difficult times, as a local food distributor in this relief program, I now have a great opportunity to help my people survive and improve their lives. Woed that I am a locaAs a Christian from an endangered minority, I also have the opportunityand to be a blessing to them, bring them hope and show them God's love for them and for our people who are suffering so much".

Thank you for standing with the brave local Christians who boldly give food with wheat flour, sugar, cooking oil, beans and salt to those in need. It costs $101 to feed one person for a month.

It costs DKK 3,578 to ensure that a family has a rainwater harvesting system installed to collect rainwater on the roof, as well as filters to purify the water for drinking, cooking and washing to improve hygiene.

Most of all, please pray for the church in Yemen, that it will endure and that the Christians will have new courage, joy and strength in their work.
