Faziya and Amir invite me to dinner and after the meal I ask them if they want to tell their story.
Amir says: "Faziya and I have a great longing to see people come to faith in Jesus."
"Not long ago, we visited a convert couple called Lariza and Adim in their village about 40 kilometers from our city. They had invited some of their family to visit and we got to talking with the couple, Yasim and Mardi. However, they were not open to talking to us about God".
Faziya recalls the meeting in the village: "Lariza called me a week later and told me about a family in town: 'Yasim and Mardi are having a very hard time because they have almost no income'. So we prayed for the family in the church, that God would open their hearts and help them."
Amir continues: "The following week we visited the village again and went with Lariza to their house, which was in very poor condition".

God answers prayer
"We had brought a bag of hope for the family (Danish European Mission donors support poor families with children with Bags of hope project through local Christians, which are bags of food, ed.), and some toys for the children. The family received us kindly and were happy with the bag of food. It turned out that they were almost out of food, so our help was very timely and the family was very grateful."
"We stayed there for a few hours drinking tea with them and Yasim and Mardi started to open their hearts to us. Mardi told us that they had a big debt to the bank that they couldn't pay." Mardi said: 'We bought a tuktuk to carry goods to earn an income.
But it didn't work out as we had hoped and we didn't earn any money. I haven't worked for a long time and it's only my wife who earns a little from cleaning, so we can't pay the loan and we're very worried. We in the team said to them: "God can answer prayer through Jesus! Then we told them about the Jesus we had met in our lives".
Crazy or believers
"My people love stories! So I told them several Bible stories and explained the gospel based on the stories. It touched their hearts and they accepted Jesus as their Savior. After we prayed, their faces practically glowed! They said: 'An extraordinary joy and peace has come into our hearts', and there was great joy in the house!"

It's now been over two months and the couple are holding on to Jesus and reading the Bible every day. They both have good jobs that can support the family, and in a short time they have paid off the debt.
Amir says: "However, some of their relatives and neighbors have become angry with them because they have become Christians. They say: 'You have gone mad' and 'You have been deceived by the Christians and their lying book. You should return to the truth!".
"Faziya and I still go out to the village once or twice a month to teach the Word of God in the house church".
"We continue to pray for the house church in the village and thank you for your prayers and support!"
