Christian school and many churches burned

21 churches in Pakistan have been burned and a school in Faisalabad was set on fire. The Danish European Mission sought funding for the school from Danida, administered by what is now called the Center for Church Development, and donors supported the Danish European Mission. Fortunately, the school was not burned down, but there is damage to be repaired and walls to be cleaned and painted.

Churches are now heavily policed to prevent further attacks and arson. This is positive on the one hand, but on the other hand, police protection comes too late. There are even reports of cases where the police looked on passively as Christians were attacked.

According to the BBC, 100 have been arrested for arson and attacks on Christians.

The reason for the attacks are claims that Christians have violated the Koran.

Since 2005, donors to the Danish European Mission have ensured that thousands of poor Christian girls have attended sewing schools where they have been equipped to start their own businesses. Two schools have also been founded with support from DANIDA, administered by what is now called the Center for Church Development Work.

Thank you so much for praying for Pakistan.
