Iranian Christians ask if we will pray for Rahmat Rostamipour (49), who remains in detention after being arrested at his home in Anzali on April 18.

A dozen plainclothes Iranian intelligence agents raided the house of Christian convert Rahmat early in the morning and confiscated Bibles, IDs, cell phones and tablets belonging to his children. This is according to Danish European Mission's project partner Middle East Concern.

The agents intended to arrest Rahmat's wife, Azar, but during the raid, their teenage daughter had a panic attack and was traumatized. Azar was instead summoned the following day for questioning at a security office.

Azar was interrogated on April 19 for several hours and verbally accused of propaganda against the regime through involvement in house church activities. Neither Azar nor Rahmat have been formally charged.

Intercession is requested for the following:

  • Rahmat will be released soon
  • The couple will not be charged with criminal activity because of their faith or Christian activities
  • The Lord will comfort the family and give His peace and that the children will not suffer from anxiety or emotional trauma
  • Iranian authorities will stop the persecution of people for their faith
