From the beginning of 2011, Pastor Chaminda continuous harassed of his neighbor, Vijayarajah. The neighbor was against the pastor and his family practicing the Christian faith in the village. Vijayarajah was the main sponsor of the village's Buddhist temple and conspired with Buddhist monks and villagers on several occasions to have the priest removed from the village. He even tried to have the priest and his family publicly ostracized by the community and cut off their water and electricity supply. He also led crowds in attacks on the priest.
But in 2014, when Vijayarajah needed eye surgery, he lacked the funds to to get it done and was forced to sell his land. He couldn't find a buyer for a long time until the priest offered to buy the land from him so he could finance his eyenoperation.
Yet he continued to stalk the priest, and in 2016 he conspired with Merigiriya-department secretary and cut off the priest's electricity and water supply.
The priest filed a lawsuit, and dIt was settled a year later. In court, the priest publicly forgave Vijayarajah. After this, Vijayarajah repented his actions, and the priest offered to pray for him for the healing of his eye. As a result of the priest's prayers, Vijayarajah healed and came to Faith in Jesus. DOne day today, Vijayarajah is an invaluable part of the pastor's church.
