During Easter 2019, a number of hotels and Christian churches in Sri Lanka were targeted by coordinated suicide bombings, killing around 250 people. Jeyanthimala and her husband Surenidrakumar lost a daughter during the Easter attack, but still has a son.

Suren works in a clinic and also has a part-time job in a hospital. He uses this income to cover his family's expenses. They have been members of Zion Church i Batticaloa since 2017. Until 2017, their son had diabetes, which does not kto be healed. But then the family came along to a healing meeting in Zion Church. When their son was prayed for, his diabetes was reduced. Since then, the family has been a regular part of the church.

When the attack took place on Easter 2019, Suren and his son were sitting in the front of the church. His daughter was sitting further back and was hit by the blast. She was rushed to the emergency room, but only had a weak pulse on arrival. She died shortly after.

The family is currently paying off a loan, which is a huge burden on their finances as Suren, as the primary breadwinner, only earns around 370 Danish kroner a month after repaying the loan. The loss of their daughter and the financial burden combine to make everyday life difficult for the family. The wife, Jeyan, used to work at a tailor's but couldn't continue as she didn't own a sewing machine.

With support from the Danish Europamissions donors, she has now been able to buy a sewing machine and make a much-needed contribution to the family's finances. The family is very grateful for the help they receive.

Thank you to everyone who prays for and supports the persecuted Christians i Sri Lanka.
