Pictured above: Muslim Hassan used to despise Christians. Now, thanks to God's revealed word, he has become part of the community of believers himself.
I recently had the privilege of interviewing Hassan*, who is a very warm and approachable person. Growing up in a strict Muslim family in Iran, Hassan has always sought answers to life's big questions. The more he scrutinized and searched the Islamic scriptures, the more questions he had and the more of his questions remained unanswered. Still, Hassan proclaimed himself a strong and zealous Muslim whose mission was to win all of Europe to Islam.
On the mission field for Islam
In a country near Iran, Hassan and his wife meet a man who repeatedly invites them to church. But it's only when the man tells them that the church is made up of converts from Islam that they decide to go. "These poor people have been misled, so I have to go and meet them and bring them back tenl iSlam. I said to my wife: Llet's go to the church once and see, Who these stupid people are, as have left Islam", says Hassan.

Encountering the presence of the Spirit of God
From the moment Hassan and his wife enter the church room, the presence of the Spirit of God touches their hearts. "There was a presence, we had never experienced before. The song touched my wife's heart. When I looked at her, she sang loudly and raised her hands. And I said: What are you doing? We are Muslims! Don't do that! And she could not quit with crying", Hassan says. Hassan himself is touched by the honesty and genuine love he meets in church. Afterwards, they decided to come to church every Sunday.

The Holy Spirit and scripture - is Muhammad a false prophet?
Hassan starts reading the New Testament and every verse touches his heart. One day he is particularly struck by the passage Matt. 7:15-20, where Jesus talks about false prophets. "He said., that you will know them by their fruit. This verse shocked me. At that moment I started comparing Muhammaded's life and the life of Jesus. It was like a dream for me. I thought: 'What is the fruit of Muhammed's life? And what is the fruit of Islam in my own life?' I looked at myself. I had a miserable life. I didn't have any good relationships, not even with my own wife", says Hassan.
"Imagine, that the is in the desert, and you can't find your way. You find two people, the onee is alive, and the other is dead. HWhich one can help you? JI asked: Who is alive? And the Holy Spirit said: 'Jesus is alive.' From that moment I cried., and I gave my heart to Jesus. God transformed usreally my life and my character", Hassan continues.
