Mojtaba Mohamedi will give a presentation on:

  1. The situation of the church in Iran
  2. The political situation in Iran

Iranian residents contribute with Iranian worship, and we get to taste their amazing mad.

The organizers are the Metropol Network Church and the Danish European Mission, which helps the persecuted Iranian church. Mojtaba Mohamedi (alias) is one of the leaders of the wide-ranging work that has been growing and evolving for 24 years.

Background information

Before the 1979 revolution that overthrew the Shah, an estimated 500 people converted from Islam to the Christian faith, while a conservative estimate says that today the number has grown to 370,000. It is estimated that as many Iranians have come to faith in Jesus in the last 25 years as in the last 1300 years combined!

Politically, Iran is a regional leader in the Middle East and several neighboring countries are concerned that the country is developing a nuclear bomb. Internally, a large part of Iran's population of almost 80 million is disillusioned and frustrated with clerical rule. They are searching for alternatives and many are turning to faith in Jesus.

The clerical regime increasingly sees the large number of conversions away from Islam to faith in Jesus Christ as a threat to its existence - and political strength in the Middle East - as the ideological basis on which it builds its legitimacy is Islam. As a result, the regime is cracking down on the many underground churches where Christians must meet in hiding. Many Christians are arrested and some receive long prison sentences.

A unique seminar

The seminar is a rich opportunity to gain fresh knowledge about what is happening in the persecuted church in Iran. It is unique that we can listen to a man like Mojtaba Mohamedi. He is a warm person with a long and vast experience in helping the persecuted Iranian church. He is considered a father figure by many Iranian churches in Iran and beyond. We are also grateful that local Iranians will participate and contribute with singing and their amazing food.
