A closed country. This woman from a country where Christians are persecuted has been raised from the dead. She benefits from MP3 players sponsored by Danish European Mission donors, and uses them to share the gospel with her fellow countrymen.
Became terminally ill
She came to faith in 2002 when she suddenly became very ill and had to be hospitalized. Every day her condition got worse and worse and no one knew what was wrong with her. The doctor called her relatives and asked them to come in and see her one last time.
Saved on his deathbed
Her daughter and son-in-law were believers. The daughter was crying and didn't know what to do when her husband suddenly said that her mother needed Jesus. Those words were like a light in the darkness for her, and she grabbed her Bible and ran to the hospital. While her husband stood outside praying for her mother, she went into the room to see her mother. She said: "Mom, I'm going to pray for you, and I want you to repeat what I say." She led her through the sinner's prayer and the mother received Jesus into her heart. Then the doctor came again and asked them to leave the room. Then the mother died.
Had a near-death experience
After this, resuscitation began. However, it wasn't until the next day that her daughter found out that she had been dead and had been resuscitated! She went to her mother, who told her that when her daughter had left, she had died. She had seen how she fell into a great endless darkness and how a great luminous hand picked her up again. Then she found herself back in the hospital with doctors standing around her, reviving her.
Her health started to improve and after a few days she came home. Her daughter gave her the New Testament and she started writing Bible verses in a notebook. Wherever she went, she took the notebook with her and read from it. The people who heard it were amazed at where she got the notes from. She testified to them about Jesus.
Relatives respected her conversion from Islam to the Christian faith
This old woman was a former Muslim, but not practicing. She didn't pray five times a day, but she feared Allah, observed Ramadan and knew all the Muslim prayers. When she started reading the New Testament, she began to pray only to Jesus. She told many of her relatives about Jesus. People respected her because they had seen her live a godly life and had seen her love for others.
Passionate about spreading the gospel
People started asking her to copy Bible verses for them and write notebooks for them too, so she copied a lot of verses for them. But her eyes got bad and it was hard for her to read. She was so happy when she got her MP3 player so she could listen to Proverbs, the New Testament and Bible stories, and she also liked the songs on it. She said it had become very easy to listen and share with people. She has asked that we pray for her health, because she has so many ailments, but she still wants to visit as many of her relatives as possible, because they are waiting for her to come and talk about what is in the Bible.
