Here are some reactions from believers in the country, where the persecution is so fierce that for security reasons we choose not to disclose which country the DVDs have been distributed in.
"A lady called us and thanked us for the New Testament on DVD and said it was exactly what she wanted. She works at home making carpets and doesn't have time to read, so she said it was good to be able to put the DVD on and just listen."
"Some women had requested the New Testament in large type because they couldn't read small print. It's good that they can put the DVD on and listen."
"One family said that when they get up in the morning, they put on the DVD and listen to the New Testament, just like they can sit and read the Pentateuch by watching the TV screen."
"For security reasons, some people say it's easier to store this DVD than books. It also makes a good gift for use in evangelism." The security aspect is important as authorities routinely confiscate Bibles and Christian literature. Occasionally confiscated materials are returned, but often only after considerable pressure from the owners, who risk further punishment because of their desire for their return. This applies not only to the Bible in book form, but also on CD and DVD, although CDs and DVDs are easier to store than books.
Thank you to all those who have helped bring joy and hope through God's Word to believers in a country where they pay a high price for believing in Jesus.
