In a Christian village, Khokharabad, near the city of Muzaffargarh, 15 people lost their lives and 377 Christians were left homeless when a local politician, wanting to secure his own land, channeled floodwaters towards a Christian village. The village was completely covered by the floodwaters, causing widespread destruction.
Neither the politician nor the authorities involved will accept blame for the malicious incident. In order to secure his own land from flooding, the politician deliberately preferred to destroy the lives of hundreds of Christians. Christians in Pakistan are unfortunately considered second-class citizens by many Muslims and therefore various forms of injustice thrive.
