Christian media team attacked by a group of radical Hindus

Operation Mobilization's (OM) Christian media team was attacked by a group of radical Hindus on 14.10.08 in Kamareddygudem village in Nalgonda district of Andhra Pradesh. According to reports, the team, consisting of five Christians, was showing the 'Jesus film' when a group of fundamentalists arrived on motorcycles and started attacking the Christians belonging to the OM team. They destroyed equipment valued at more than Rs 200,000 (22,280).

When contacted, Inspector Chari informed the Association of Christian Lawyers that the Christians were sent for treatment at Miyalaguda Government Hospital. The accused: Lingaiah, Raju, Venkatreddy, Ramesh and Sundaraia, were later arrested under the Indian Penal Code. They were released on bail on 20.10.08. (EFI/Danish European Mission)
