The six were arrested on 09.05.08 after a prayer meeting and were jailed for one night. They were threatened several times because they had converted from Islam and were accused of being spies for the Jews. They were told that they deserved to have their throats cut.

At the court hearing on 27.05.08, they were also charged with illegal practice of non-Muslim worship. The prosecutor demanded two years in prison and a fine of DKK 39,175.

The six denied distributing religious material. "If you accuse us, you have to have proof," one of the men said in court, according to El Watan newspaper.
