Write to a persecuted Christian

Christians who are persecuted can easily feel alone. They need to feel that they are not forgotten. You can encourage them with a letter.

Iranian Christian convert released Mina Khajavi, 61, was released from Evin prison on October 20 after serving a two-year prison sentence for leading a house church. Mina was arrested in 2020 along with Iranian-Armenian pastor Joseph Shahbazian and several other converts at a house church meeting. Her summons to serve her sentence was postponed after she was hit by a car and needed treatment for a broken ankle. She began serving her prison sentence in January 2024, where she continued to suffer pain from her injured ankle but was denied adequate medical care. Please pray for the healing of Mina's ankle. Pray also for God's guidance and encouragement.

Azita was 15 years old when she got married for the first time Azita was 15 years old when she got married for the first time - through her second husband she became a Christian Azita was 15 years old when she got married for the first time. "I should have played, but I couldn't," she says of her premature marriage that didn't last when her husband took drugs. She remarried, and this became the gateway to the Christian faith, also for her new husband. Her husband had been on a trip with some acquaintances to a neighboring country to Iran, where his friends started singing Jesus. This changed the man and he brought home a copy of the New Testament. Azita says: "When my husband came back to Iran, he didn't say anything about becoming a Christian because he was afraid of my reaction. He brought back a copy of the New Testament and when I found out he had become a Christian, he said, 'Let's read the Gospel'. What I realized was that even though I was full of sin, even though I wasn't clean on the inside, Jesus loved and accepted me."
"We need the great boldness that our "We need the great boldness that our persecuted friends can inspire us with" Wessam Youssef is a cross-cultural worker at Inner Mission and in his reflection he tells about his first meeting with a convert Christian. The encounter made Wessam Youssef uncomfortable as the man accused Christians of being cowards. He said, "How is it that you have the truth, light and salvation and then keep it to yourself while a lot of people still live in darkness?" This made Wessam Youssef remember that the disciples were praying for boldness rather than for the persecution to stop. He says, "We should not only be inspired by them. They need us to pray for them daily and remind the world of the struggle they are in. We can help with money to meet their basic needs and accompany them in their struggle to be Christians. In Danmark we pray for revival, but what we need most is the great boldness that our persecuted friends can inspire us with." Join us in praying for our brothers and sisters in faith✨
