Dima is involved in the emergency aid project in Ukraine, supported by the donors of the Danish European Mission. Here he talks about his meeting with Anatoly:

"The road we took there was beyond awful. I have no words to describe everything we saw."

"There were burnt cars and other vehicles all along the road. We saw a pile of dead bodies."

"People were so happy that we brought them food. Many were crying. One man, Anatoly, told us that he had a stroke a few months ago, but despite that, his children left him. They used to live with him, but when the war started they left him with only a pot of soup and 200 hryvnias."

"When we gave him a food package, he cried. He kept thanking us. We told him about Jesus and he wanted to accept him as his personal savior. We went to a number of towns around Irpin and handed out 270 food parcels to people who had been trapped and had nothing. People were grateful for even the smallest things like wet wipes if they have no water to wash themselves. Many also have no electricity or natural gas."

  • Food aid is urgently needed: Refugees, displaced people and civilians trapped by Russian forces and unable to be evacuated all need food to survive.
  • It costs $357 to help a family in Ukraine with enough food for a week.
