The Church of the Light of Life in Poltava, not far from the front, supported by Danish European Mission's improvers and donors, brings relief and care to the vulnerable. This is done through boxes of food, electric blankets that bring warmth, charging stations and gas cylinders.
I The bags of food For example, cereals (buckwheat, wheat and flour) pasta, sunflower oil and canned food (chicken meat, sardines in oil and beans) tea and cookies.
The electric blankets help Ukrainians keep warm if there is no heat in their apartments. The electric heating blankets use little power and can be connected to charging stations, which are also distributed, and generators if there is no power in the apartment. Without heat, apartments can become unhealthy damp, but electric blankets provide comfortable sleep and prevent illnesses that might otherwise occur.
Another element of the project is gas cylindersGas can be used to heat people's homes, as well as provide heat for boiling water and cooking. Gas cylinders are a cheaper and more efficient heat source than wood and coal stoves. In addition, gas cylinders can be easily refilled at gas stations in Ukraine. An advantage is that gas cylinders can be used in houses where there is no heat due to Russian attacks.
The aid is distributed in Dachnoe, Gornyak, Kurakhove, Konstantinovka and Novoselidivka in Donetsk region, Dolgenkoe and Izyum in Kharkiv region and Sukhorabovka in Poltava region.
The relief work is carried out by the Church of the Light of Life. The name refers to Jesus being the light of life. The church was started as an underground church in 1979 under communism, where it faced persecution. The church not only provides emergency aid, but also encourages those in need based on the Bible. Those interested can also get the Gospel of John and the New Testament.
It costs DKK 89 to donate one bag of food to the vulnerable, DKK 239 for one electric blanket and DKK 360 for one gas bottle with top burner for cooking.
