COVID-19 has also hit Central Asia, shutting down several countries in the region. One of the Danish European Mission's partners in Uzbekistan is experiencing a nationwide lockdown and quarantine. It's difficult to get permission to travel around the local area, but even though the majority of the population stays at home and stops going to work, Christians insist on spreading God's love to their neighbors.

Church members leave the bags of food on the steps in front of the door to avoid contamination.

Because God is still working in the land, even though circumstances have changed.

"We are learning to serve God and our countrymen in new conditions. There are many who experience a lack of food and protective equipment here in the city. We try to alleviate this by distributing food to the poorest, while in the church premises we sew masks and distribute them for free. There are many people who need help and we do our best to help them and show God's love to people in our city.

We have to make sure we don't spread the disease, so we tell people in advance that we're bringing a gift. The people who receive the packages are so happy about it. We serve a great God, and we do that in this time too," says one of the church leaders.

One of the church's offices has been converted into a distribution center where food is distributed in smaller packages that are handed out.

There are no services in the church, and the diaconal projects that normally take place have also been put on hold. But God's love is still being shared in Uzbekistan. Pray for the country's Christians, especially during this time when their communities are shut down, and pray for more people to see Jesus as their Savior.
