Danish European Mission's partner is deeply concerned and saddened by the Easter Sunday explosions targeting St. Anthony Church in Kochchikade, St. Sebastian Church in Katana and three leading hotels in Colombo. Sebastian's Church in Katana, Zion Church in Batticaloa and three leading hotels in Colombo.

The local Sri Lankan Christians Danish European Mission is working with are praying for the situation, while encouraging the global church to pray for those grieving the loss of loved ones and the wounded.

The local Christians refer to the word in Romans chapter 12 verse 12: ...be persistent in tribulation, persistent in prayer.

Bibles and self-help

Since 2010, donors to the Danish European Mission have ensured that Christians in Sri Lanka who are so poor they cannot afford a Bible have been able to get one.

In addition, since 2012, Danish European Mission donors have helped poor pastoral families in Sri Lanka to become self-sufficient. The help can consist of a cow whose milk they can sell, chickens whose eggs can be sold, goats that can be bred and whose milk can be sold, chickens whose eggs can be sold or help to open a small shop.

Thank you to everyone who will support this project, which is vital to help poor pastoral families stay in ministry despite persecution and poverty.
