This additional sentence will be added directly to the six years in prison he is currently serving for his Christian faith. This means that he will not be released until December 2017 instead of December 2016.

It is believed that this development is due to The violent attack on prisoners from ward 350 in Evin prison in April 2014. Several prisoners were injured, including Farshid, resulting in public protests. In August 2014, many of the prisoners, including Farshid, were moved from Evin prison to other prisons.

A few days after his arrival at Rajai Shahr prison, Farshid was falsely accused of possession of alcohol in Evin prison. This was the first time these charges were made. Farshid was finally brought to trial on December 29, 2014 and sentenced to one year in prison.

Since December 2010, Farshid has been in prison for his service as a priest, which Iran's judicial system perceives as a threat to national security.

Your continued prayers for Farshid and his family and friends are greatly needed, especially during this difficult time.

Jesus taught us to pray for and bless those who persecute us. Therefore, let us pray that the incredible grace we have received from God through Jesus will also be extended to those who inflict suffering on Christians in Iran.

Thank you for your prayers.
