In the days leading up to the Persian New Year and Easter, an Iranian church in the area distributed over 4000 New Testaments. Other churches also took part in distributing Scripture. Despite the government's extremely hostile attitude towards Christians, there is not a single reported case of people refusing to receive the New Testament. This only proves once again the deep love the Iranian people have for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Since an entire family will often share a copy of the Gospel, we can expect that these 4000 New Testaments, all with a clear message of salvation, will be read by at least 10,000 people.
The churches have also been full. Between 250 and 300 people gathered to hear the gospel in one of the towns in the area. Newcomers stepped forward to give their lives to Christ. Despite the current hard line in Iran, this remains a time of harvest.
In 2011, the Danish European Mission sponsored the printing and distribution of 3397 Iranian New Testaments.
Pray for:
- That the New Testament may bring thousands to faith
- Follow-up for those who have recently converted to Christ
- That more New Testaments may be printed
