In Egypt, Christian convert Raheal Henen Mussa and her Coptic husband are hiding from the police and her Muslim family for violating a section of Islamic law (Sharia) that is not in Egyptian law.

Police arrested 22-year-old Mussa on 13.04.09 for marrying Sarwat George Ryiad (zawag al 'urfi), an unregistered form of marriage without witnesses. Mussa's family took her from police custody on 19.04.09, but she escaped from the family on 21.04.09.

The two fled Cairo and are in hiding. "They have not broken the law, but the family and the police are following their own unwritten law," said the President of the Coptic Society of Britain.
