Dear sister and brother,
I greet you with the peace of the Lord.
We are all doing well, thanks to your care and thoughtfulness. We do our best with the opportunities we have.
Currently, restrictions are in place in the border regions to prevent the virus from entering and spreading. Travelers coming from other countries or regions will be quarantined for 20-30 days and undergo a thorough medical check-up. Health authorities have also ordered local households to use salt water and garlic extract, and everyone must air out regularly to promote individual health. The government seems to be doing everything it can, but prevention efforts do not seem to be very effective. In the border areas, people are trying to stay indoors, and in the markets it is not possible to get enough grain, firewood, vegetables or meat. The prices of rice, cooking oil, vegetables and fruit are rising rapidly and the lack of basic goods is quickly adding to the hardships families are facing.
Your great help arrived just in time to get us through this emergency situation safely
But God in his great mercy takes care of such sudden problems. Your great help arrived just in time to get us safely through this emergency. We know that you will continue your devoted and benevolent support to your fellow believers. With it, you lessen our emotional burdens and bring grace and fruit to our spiritual lives, so that we know that the cold or hardships of the future can neither shake nor worry us. Instead, we will look to the Lord Jesus Christ and be assured that joy and glory await us both now and in eternity. We would like to pray for you and our brothers and sisters in Denmark and around the world. We pray that God in his fatherly love will protect you from the coronavirus and provide for your health and safety.
Best regards,
A North Korean church leader
Support North Korea: Medicine and food for Christians and others in need
Facts: Medicine for persecuted Christians and others in need in North Korea
Due to contributions from the Danish European Mission's donors, food and medicine are brought through unofficial channels to the underground church, which not only uses the aid on itself, but shares it with others in need. The diseases treated include tuberculosis, hepatitis B, diarrhea, fever, infectious diseases and circulatory problems.
