Syria has filled up and down ad columns since 2011, when the rebels attempted to overthrow the pPresident Assad. It has not succeeded and the country now has lying in civil war in or years, resulting in more than 12 million refugees. At the same time, the country's population is been caught up in a grand political game between the EU, UNITED NATIONS, USA, Russia, Iran, Turkey and more other.
Economic crisis in Syria
It puts pressure on the Syrian people. "There is an economic crisis in the country. People are just trying to survive.because everything is so expensive. Even though the overall situation in the country is better than when the war was at its worst, the economy is poor. Most families can't support themselves because there are either no jobs or a high enough salary for the few jobs availablethat can be obtained. Hospital managers and senior doctors might get around 150$ per month, and that's only just enough for a whole Family. So imagine that you are not so highly educated. For poor families, you may need to–three full-time jobs to earn enough for the family," says the responsible for the Danish European Mission projectis Syria. When families can't make ends meet with their jobs, they go out and look for help.
Muslims seek help in the church
"The Muslims first go to the mosque and ask for help. But if they don't get help there, they come to the church where the Christians try to take care of them. But it's difficult, because the need is getting greater and greater, while the churches' resources are being drained trying to help those who ask for it. More and more people are coming to church because they see it as a place of refuge and help. The pastors get so many requests that they can't fulfill them all," he says.
Help for everyone
Syria has been hit by Massive economic sanctions, and along with the war, it has caused many to leave the countrybecause they only see hunger, rising prices, war and unemployment. It is especially the mest resourceful people who have left the country in search of a life in the West or neighboring countries where they see a larger hope for the future. Many Christians have also left the country, but some churches still abound with people.
"We Muslims kill you, but you still help us!"
"Maybe up to 60-80% of the Christians who came to the churches before the civil war have left Syria. These are many of the stronge Young men, as should garden helped the priests, bet youth leaders, leadershipt projects in the community and carried with you in church. Nnow they're gone, and that puts pressure on the churches, because There is a great need to help in Syria. But even though many Christians have left the country, several of the pastors in Syria tell us that more churches are more full than ever before. Many of themthe now comes in Church, are Muslim, as are open to the Gospel and now want to follow Jesus. Since the start of the war, the Church has helped all themwho asked for it - across ethnic and religious divides. It is bThe need for helpthat often Muslims are drawn to the churches, and when they see that the church helps everyone, the reaction is often: 'Wow!, déIt really is a great love.' One of them said: 'We Muslims kill you, but you help us anyway!' When they see that love, several of them ask when the er church service so they can visit the church. Kiarkn just want to help the poor and weak - no matter whether they are Muslim or Christian - fAnd that's what Jesus did. He didn't ask about people's faith before he helped them - he just helped. The Syrian Church samples to do the same. Men emergency aid and evangelization mixing never. It is wrong to exploit people's need to share the gospel so that the relief is not conditional on people being Listening to the gospel. Men love opens the door to their Hearts. So right now is there Churches that are fuller than they've been in a long time, more to do and more people knocking on the door and open to the gospel. It's a fantastic thing. The needs of the church are increasing. Keep in mind the Syrian church. Bed for the church and the Christian," concludes the project manager.
Thank you to everyone who is praying for Syria and standing with local Christians to reach out to people in need.
