Ellen and Alex Nielsen from Odense contacted the Danish European Mission before their vacation trip to Sri Lanka. They asked if they could get in touch with local Christians and help with our Bible distribution project for poor Christians in the country.
Pastor Karunaratne tells us: I was born in Anuradhapura. I serve in several villages in Anuradhapura.
As soon as people accept Christ as their personal savior, they ask for a Bible. They tell me about their longing to read the Bible and own their own Bible. I have often felt helpless because I don't have enough Bibles for them.
I can only afford copies of the New Testament, but that is not enough for them to fully understand God's Word. I truly believe that these new Bibles are a great blessing. With the help of these Bibles, I will be able to tell more about God and reach more people.
Bibles bring church growth
Pastor Karunaratne continues: "As more and more people read the Bible, the number of believers is growing every day. People are realizing that only Jesus can offer them salvation. That's why Bibles are so important to them - they help them grow in faith.
May God bless you and thank you for your generous and kind help.

You can ensure more Bibles are distributed to poor Christians in Sri Lanka. It costs DKK 40 to provide a poor Christian family with a Bible.
