Christian prisoner Farshid Fathi, who was injured during a violent 'inspection' by prison authorities, in which Farshid was brutally stepped on by a guard while trying to protect a fellow prisoner, causing him to break a toe and several bones, has been denied further treatment in hospital.
After he was injured on Maundy Thursday, he was finally briefly admitted to the hospital where he was treated and put in a cast on his foot. The doctor recommended that Farshid come back a week later as he may well need surgery. Farshid has been refused even though he has been in a lot of pain for the past two weeks. He has repeatedly asked various prison authorities for permission to return to the hospital for further treatment, but these requests have been repeatedly denied.
Farshid has been in Evin prison for almost three and a half years because of his Christian faith and service. Farshid asks that we pray for him, especially now that he is experiencing severe pain and his health is at risk.
