Farshid still needs prayer

Not only did Farshid Fathi serve five years in prison for his service as a pastor in the underground church in Iran. While in prison, he also experienced the pain of his family disintegrating. Farshid, his children Rosanna, 12, and Bardia, 7, and his former wife need our prayers.

We are pleased to announce that Farshid Fathi, who was released from prison in December, was able to leave Iran safely several weeks ago. For his safety, we are not disclosing his current whereabouts.

His family and friends can hardly find the words to express how happy they are that Farshid is now free. He is in good health and has many poignant stories to tell about God's faithfulness during his time in prison.

Farshid could feel that he was being prayed for

Farshid says: "I am a free man today because our Savior was faithful to me. His unfathomable love and grace was much, much greater than I could have imagined". He is deeply grateful for all our prayers. Farshid says he could "smell the prayers of God's people" while he was in prison.

The family needs prayer

While we share this good news, we are sad to report that Farshid's marriage to his wife Leila suffered during his time in prison. Although their close friends held out hope that their marriage would be restored after his release, their divorce has already been announced.

A difficult time lies ahead for Farshid, Leila and their two children, 12-year-old Rosanna and 7-year-old Bardia. Pray for them all as they try to rebuild their lives. Pray that their marriage will be restored.

Farshid now plans to spend the next twelve months recovering from his ordeal in prison and spending time with his children as soon as possible. He needs to rest and recuperate from his time in prison. He has no plans to resume his public service during this period.

Despite his suffering, Farshid loves God dearly and has been faithful to Him.
